Held in the Letting Go
An Autumn Afternoon of Allowing, Surrender & Belonging
Saturday September 19th
12:30–4:30 pm
There is so much change happening within us and around us. Some of it we choose. Much of it we cannot control.
How do we meet what is changing without gripping more tightly, turning away, or numbing ourselves to what we feel?
Perhaps allowing and surrender are not acts of giving up, but practices that create more room for compassionate presence—for meeting ourselves, one another, and the world with greater tenderness, care, and kind understanding.
Gathering near the Autumn Equinox, we find ourselves at a threshold—a moment of balance between light and dark, and a turning toward the quieter seasons ahead.
The living world offers us a beautiful place to explore this.
The flowers and grasses have gifted their seeds to the wind and earth. Nests that held new life through the summer now sit empty. Leaves begin to loosen their hold. The river meets stones, roots, and fallen branches—sometimes rushing, sometimes pooling, sometimes caressing what it encounters before continuing on its way.
There is no single way of letting go.
Together, we'll take our inspiration from the living world as we explore our own relationship with change—our need to control, our resistance to what is, the things we may be ready to lay down, and what becomes possible when we soften our grip.
Perhaps letting go is also an invitation to find a little more peace with what we cannot control—not because we care less, but so that we have more capacity to care for what we can.
And beneath it all, an undercurrent of love—a reminder that we can loosen our hold while remaining deeply connected and held by our relationship with ourselves, one another, and the larger living world.
Through nature-based mindfulness and contemplative invitations, silence, gentle movement, solo time, deep listening, and shared reflection, we'll make space to meet this season—and these changing times—with greater openness and kind understanding.
Nothing to force. Nothing you have to release before you're ready.
Simply an afternoon to practice allowing—and perhaps find a little more peace with what is.
