Bragg Creek is situated along the Elbow River within the traditional land of the Iyarhe Nakoda including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations, the people of the Tsuu’tina Nation, and the  Niitsitapi people including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Bragg Creek is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region III. As inhabitants of this Treaty 7 territory we acknowledge the passive role we have played in colonization and have ongoing responsibilities as treaty people. I would also like to acknowledge the other-than-human beings that inhabit the Elbow River Watershed and beyond; without whom we could not breath, drink, or eat, and with whom we share 3 billion years of kinship on our planet.
