The Last Sweet Days of Summer
An Afternoon for Nervous System Renewal
Saturday, August 29, 2026
12:30–4:30 pm
Late summer carries a quiet invitation.
The grasses have offered their seeds to the wind. Most of the wildflowers have completed their blooming, trusting that what they have given will continue on. The pace of the living world begins to soften, inviting us to do the same.
As summer gently releases the season into the hands of autumn, perhaps we, too, can practice letting go.
At a time when many of us are living with nervous systems that rarely have an opportunity to truly settle—shaped not only by the constant demands on our attention, but also by the uncertainty of our times and the realities unfolding in our own communities, from wildfires to the many challenges life brings—it becomes increasingly important to create moments of restoration.
This afternoon is an invitation to step away for a few hours and allow the living world to become our partner in tending the nervous system. Through gentle, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based invitations, we'll create space to settle, breathe deeply, and remember what it feels like to simply belong.
There is nothing to achieve here. Nothing to fix. This is time to nourish yourself, to notice how you are arriving, and to allow the steady presence of the more-than-human world to support your own return to balance.
Everything is offered as an invitation, honouring your own pace and experience.
Together we'll enjoy:
Gentle mindfulness invitations inspired by the living world
Slow wandering through forest and meadow
Solo hammock rest beneath the trees
Spacious silence and deep listening
Seasonal wildcrafted tea and a nourishing treat
Time for reflection, connection, and simply being
No previous experience is needed—only a willingness to slow down and receive.
